LAWN TREATMENT

Every lawn needs regular maintenanceAerating your lawn is a great way to reduce thatch

Here in Glen Rock (York County) PA, at Almony’s Property Maintenance, Inc., we strive to educate all of our customers on the need for proper treatment of their lawns.  Whether you love mowing your own lawn or have contracted a professional lawn care company, every lawn needs regular maintenance.  Even with the best of care, a lawn can thin out and loose color due to excessive thatch buildup, too much foot- or pet-traffic that creates compacted or hard soils, or periods of high temperatures, high humidity or drought.

Start with Lawn Aeration

Aerating your lawn is a great way to reduce thatch, loosen up compacted soils and make it easier for water and nutrients to reach the roots of your turf.

Follow with Over Seeding

Over Seeding is the best treatment following the Aeration to control thatch, filling in any bare spots which will reduce those compacted areas and most importantly revitalize the growth of your lawn.

The Result is De-Thatching

In the Aeration process, small cores of soil and thatch are removed to allow air, moisture and nutrients to penetrate down to the root zone.  The cores brought to the surface contain microorganisms, which help break down the thatch layer just below the lawn’s surface.  As the thatch layer is broken down, it is converted into organic matter which combines with existing soil particles.  As the cores begin to break down over a period of several weeks, the holes gradually fill in with the mixture of organic matter and soil, which allows roots of existing grass to spread out and grow deeper.

If you would like a thicker, healthier lawn, then consider lawn treatments by the professionals at Almony's Property Maintenance, Inc.
